Stenstrand is a wonderful beach right out on Torö, south of Nynäshamn, and is reminiscent of Gotland. It has taken on almost mythical status among Sweden's surfing community but also attracts birdwatchers, families with children and the occasional honeymooners. From here you can see the open horizon and look out over Landsort.
Large parts of the beach are privately owned but there are clearly marked car parks at several different places close to areas of common land where it is easy to get down to the beach.
How to get here by car:
Head for Torö. Pass Torö church, the shop and school and continue for a kilometre or so. When you come level with Herrhamra Gård, turn right. Keep to the left along a long straight stretch. There are designated parking areas.
How to get here by bus:
Bus 852 from Nynäshamn's station towards Torö. The bus ride takes approx. 40 min. Get off at the stop Herrhamra, then it's approx. 2 km to walk.
