Ludde's cottage, a small timbered cottage with a turf roof, is Nynäshamn's oldest house and located right next to Strandvägen.
The local history society was founded in 1931 at the initiative of Victor Pettersson and over the years it has built up a very pleasant and comprehensive museum in Nynäshamn.
Originally the local history society covered all eleven parishes within the Sotholm administrative county district, and the museum contains fine objects from all over the municipality. Ludde's cottage, a small timbered cottage with a turf roof, is Nynäshamn's oldest residential building and located right next to Strandvägen. There is a restaurant, Restaurang Hembygdsgården, on the premises that is open daily.
It is possible to get around with a pram or wheelchair in some parts of the museum, other parts are difficult with many stairs and thresholds. When the museum is open a guide can inform those who don´t have the opportunity to take part in the exhibition. Toilet is available at Hembygdsgårdens Restaurant but it is not handicapped accessible. Free parking is available outside the entrance.
